It is also used in certain cases of metabolic acidosis, individuals who do not get enough calcium in the body. It is added to clear beverages, juices and plant-based dairy alternatives (like soy or corn milk) to enrich nutritional profiles without altering flavor.

The shelf life is 3 years. It is stored in well-closed containers.
